Gingham Style

The “Gingham” pattern is known for its checked pattern of white coupled with any bold color and can be found not only on picnic table linens but all over the menswear world.  Originally, this fabric was intended to be woven into stripes but the stripes began to overlap in a diagonal pattern and the term “gingham” was born. It is believed that gingham fabrics originated in Malaysia and/or Indonesia. It comes from the word genggang, which means “striped”.

Menswear now offers gingham ties, shirts, sport coats, and even suits. We offer gingham custom dress shirts in several colors such as purple, blue, pink, and red. See our new gingham fabric selections here.

While I am at it, here are some other creative ways to wear it.
